Simultaneous Thermal Analysis
When to choose this option: You need a TG signal (mass loss on heating) — on its own (thermogravimetry, TGA) or simultaneously with a DSC signal on the same sample, e.g. quantifying the composition of advanced/composite materials or trace moisture alongside thermal transitions.
STA (simultaneous thermal analysis) combines thermogravimetry (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) in a single measurement, tracking mass change and thermal effects on the same sample at the same time. The NEXTA STA series represents an evolution from classic DTA technology to a true DSC signal — unlike conventional STA instruments, which only approximate a DSC signal via DTA — with microgram-level baseline stability and optional Real View® technology for visual sample observation during analysis. The NEXTA STA is just as excellent a choice for standalone thermogravimetry (TGA), without needing a DSC signal — the DSC function can simply be excluded from the results interpretation.
