DSC - Differential Scanning Calorimetry
Thermal transitions and specific heat capacity.
When to choose: You need to determine thermal transitions (melting, crystallization, glass transition) or the specific heat capacity of polymers, inorganic materials, or pharmaceuticals, without needing simultaneous mass measurement.

STA - Simultaneous Thermal Analysis (TG-DSC)
Mass loss (TGA) and heat flow (DSC), together or standalone.
When to choose: You need sample mass loss during heating (moisture, fillers, decomposition, composite composition) — standalone (TGA) or simultaneous with a DSC signal on the same sample (e.g. quantifying the composition of advanced/composite materials).

DMA - Dynamic Mechanical Analysis
Viscoelastic properties of materials.
When to choose: You need the viscoelastic properties of materials — glass transition under load, stiffness/modulus as a function of frequency (polymers, composites, adhesives).

Thermal expansion, softening, penetration.
When to choose: You need the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), softening point, or penetration — including thin films and small samples.

Real View® — visual sample observation
A shared option across the entire NEXTA series (STA, DSC, DMA): a high-resolution camera records the sample in real time during measurement, with digital zoom, image analysis, dimension measurement, and color-change analysis (LAB/CMYK/RGB). It provides additional insight alongside standard TG/DSC/DMA curves — useful when it matters to see, not just measure, what is happening to the sample.
Color-change monitoring
Polymers, coatings, food, cosmetics — visual confirmation of color change during heating/cooling.
Oxidative degradation
E.g. oils and lubricants — visual confirmation of the moment of degradation alongside the DSC/TG signal.
Troubleshooting and training
Easier understanding of the causes of unexpected phenomena, and easier explanation of results to colleagues and clients.
Availability by series
Available on NEXTA STA200RV (built-in), NEXTA DSC (DSC600/DSC200), and NEXTA DMA — compatible with model RV-1DMA ("DMA7100" is the older name for NEXTA DMA200). Not available for the TMA7000 series.
Software for NEXTA — data management and automation
The standard control software “Software for NEXTA” is supplied with the entire NEXTA series (STA, DSC, DMA), and is also used with the TMA7000 series; the optional Data I/O package automates data entry and export for laboratories with high sample throughput or strict QA/QC requirements.
Guidance function and ease of use
A guide through measurements according to standard methods, a calibration guide, and simple/standard operating modes — easier for new users, while retaining full functionality for experienced ones. Includes image insertion/editing, touchscreen control, graph display customization, and Mobile Station (remote viewing/control).
Entry automation (barcode)
Optional Data I/O software: scanning a barcode automatically loads the sample name, file name, and measurement conditions — reducing human error when configuring measurements. Note: the barcode reader is not included in the software package and is procured separately.
Mass Upload Template
A CSV template for registering up to 5,000 identification codes at once (sample name, method, batch number) — useful for a large number of samples and measurement conditions; can also be used for individual entry.
Data export and tracking
Thermal analysis results are exported together with accompanying data (test items, batch/serial numbers) in CSV, Excel, or text format — simplifying internal record-keeping and QA/QC reliability. Automation of measurement sequences with an auto-sampler (sample order and count) is also supported.
