Capillary Flow Porometry (CFP) – the easiest, most accurate and most versatile measurement of the through-porosity of sheets and membranes, without mercury

  • Measures through-porosity – pores open on both sides of the sample, typical for membranes, separators and filtration media
  • Pore diameter measurement range 0.013 – 500 µm* (*depending on the wetting liquid), without mercury, sample preparation < 30 seconds
  • SmartFlow system – the most precise pressure, highest sensitivity and lowest signal noise (24-bit electronics, 20 Hz); direct measurement of the true bubble point, typically better than ±1% accuracy
  • Simple and fast measurement – Breeze touch interface allows operation with or without a PCShow mo

Details

  • Two measurement modes: pressure ramp (fast, highly repeatable, for routine control) and pressure step (highest possible resolution and absolute accuracy, for complex pores and thicker samples)
  • Automatic results: largest pore (bubble point), mean flow pore, smallest pore, pore size distribution – directly from the measurement, without model-fitting or image processing
  • Flexible chamber accepts 13/25/47 mm samples without changing the chamber; reduces gas consumption by up to 95%
  • MIC Net networking of multiple AccuPore instruments – synchronization of methods and results, LIMS integration
  • MicroActive software – co-plot of AccuPore (CFP) and AutoPore (MIP) results on the same graph for a complete description of pore structure (complementary techniques)
  • Auto-switching gas supply (compressor for low pressure/large pores, cylinder for high pressure/small pores) – reduces gas consumption cost
  • Wetting liquids: Galwik (recommended – low surface tension and vapor pressure) and Porewik (compatibility with older methods)
  • Typical applications: battery/fuel cell separators and membranes, filtration, non-woven materials, porous metals and ceramics
